Tiana Kennedy serves as the Associate Vice President of Communications for Colorado State University and the CSU System, which is made up of three campuses: CSU in Fort Collins, CSU Pueblo, and CSU Global.

In her current position, Tiana works to develop connections and synergy between the System office and the main campus. She manages communications for the flagship CSU campus, which includes the content development and media team, issues management, and strategic connections with colleges and units. In her parallel function at the System, Tiana manages communications for the Board of Governors and the CSU System office and its initiatives, including CSU Spur, the CSU Todos Santos Center, Colorado Futures Center, Together We Grow, and the North American Agricultural Advisory Network.

After originally joining Colorado State University in 2008, Tiana has held a variety of roles for the university at its Denver office prior to moving to the main campus in 2023. Throughout her time at CSU, she has held roles in Alumni Relations and served as a CSU faculty member, teaching Strategic Digital Communications in the Master of Communications and Media Management program. A CSU alumna, Tiana holds a bachelor’s degree in Technical Journalism and a master’s degree in Business Administration.

Tiana is a former newspaper journalist and has worked in numerous leadership roles within public and media relations, outreach, and communications. She founded a Denver non-profit called PawsCo, a foster-based animal rescue focused on supporting the shelter system. Tiana ran the 350-volunteer organization in a volunteer capacity for 7 years, until early 2021, and now serves as a board member for the organization.

She invests heavily in her community and was a Northern Colorado 40 Under 40 awardee in 2005, a Denver Business Journal 40 Under 40 awardee in 2017, is a graduate of Leadership Denver 2018, Impact Denver 2015, and the Downtown Denver Partnership Leadership Program in 2010. Tiana is passionate about sustainability, access to education, and animal welfare. She enjoys traveling, the outdoors, and live music. Tiana and her husband Matt became foster parents through Adams County in 2021 and have enjoyed that experience immensely; they live in Denver with their rescue dogs: Poe, Popeye, and Murray, and an occasional foster dog.
