CSU SPUR SPECIAL ASSISTANT

Tami McDonald serves as the Special Assistant for the CSU Spur campus at the National Western Center and will create and manage various administrative structures, policies, and procedures at Spur. Tami will provide support to the Assistant Vice Chancellor of the Spur Campus, the General Manager, the Education Director, and the Spur Program Associate.

For over 14 years Tami has been working in K-12 education and managing education projects.  Prior to joining CSU, Tami was the Colorado Regional Coordinator and the Special Projects Coordinator overseeing education programs for the Smithsonian Science Education Center.  She began her education career as an elementary and middle school teacher in Salida and Aurora, Colorado. Tami received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Regis University. She earned a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a STEM emphasis as well as a Math Interventionist Certificate, both from Adams State University. Through the NASA Endeavor Teaching Program, she earned a STEM certificate from Teacher’s College of Columbia University.

Tami grew up in Salida, Colorado and now spends her free time photographing anything in nature.  She lives in Hudson with her husband Jeff, and their pets, Lacy, Bear, and Luna.
