INTERIM CHIEF ACADEMIC OFFICER
In addition to her duties as Interim Chief Academic Officer, Roze Hentschell serves as the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Programs in the College of Liberal Arts at CSU. In that role, she oversees undergraduate and graduate program development, curriculum, and engaged learning, including education abroad. She works with faculty and staff to promote and foster student success and has been committed to enhancing access for underrepresented students.
Roze recently completed the American Council on Education (ACE) Fellows program, immersed in the study and practice of higher education leadership, both with the ACE curriculum and in the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs at the University of California San Diego, her host campus.
Roze Hentschell received her B.A. from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY and her M.A. and Ph.D in English from University of California, Santa Barbara. A scholar of renaissance literature and culture, Roze has been faculty in the English Department at CSU since 2002.
Her most recent book, “Transforming Leadership Pathways for Humanities Professionals in Higher Educations,” will be published by Purdue University Press in 2023.
