CSU Spur’s Wiz Kid wins Heartland Emmy for children’s programming
Wiz Kid is always learning something new, and she acquired an extra-special piece of knowledge the evening of July 18: she’s officially a Heartland Emmy winner! The Wiz Kid series, produced by several members of Colorado State University’s Marketing and Communications team and featuring CSU Spur experts, was recognized as the top piece of children’s programming in the region.

Wiz Kid is the perpetually curious host of CSU’s educational YouTube series, which shares the science happening at the university with a global audience. The newest episode, released July 10, focuses on energy. In addition to exploring different types of energy, the episode features quick lessons from CSU experts on topics ranging from how muscles work to the science behind a special toilet that turns human waste into power.
