Board Policy
Pursuant to CRS 23-30-111, upon recommendation of the Academic and Student Affairs Committee, the Board shall consider for approval all academic calendars for the institutions it governs. Further, the Board at any time may temporarily suspend or modify an academic term at any institution in case of fire, the prevalence of fatal diseases, or other unforeseen calamity.
Procedures
- On a periodic basis, the Academic and Student Affairs Committee recommends to the Board approval of each institution’s academic calendar terms, taking into account national norms and accreditation requirements.
- Institutions will implement academic policies, programs, and terms consistent with the academic calendar.
- The Board of Governors acknowledges that the institutions have the flexibility to offer alternate course formats within any academic calendar year as may be required or deemed necessary.
- The Board, upon recommendation of an institutional President, may suspend or modify an academic term in accordance with this policy and applicable law.
