Board Policy
The Board recognizes the importance of distributed learning 1) to meet the magnitude and variety of educational needs in an increasingly flat world, especially for place- bound, non- traditional, potential learners; 2) to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of teaching and learning by implementing best practices for blended as well as fully online courses and programs; and 3) to fulfill the missions of the CSUS campuses in response to the disparate educational needs and means of access in Colorado, the region, the United States, and the world. Although the Board has assigned a unique mission to Colorado State University–Global Campus in this rapidly developing sector of higher education, it nonetheless anticipates collaboration among the three campuses in that regard, and also encourages CSU-Fort Collins and CSU-Pueblo to make appropriate use of educational and information technologies and distance pedagogies to improve and extend educational services broadly throughout Colorado, the region, the nation, and the world.
