D. Rico Munn - Vice Chair

D. Rico Munn is the Superintendent of Aurora Public Schools. He was previously a Litigation Partner at the law firm of Baker Hostetler. He holds a Juris Doctor from the Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver and graduated Cum Laude with a B.A. in Secondary Education and Social Sciences from Midland Lutheran College. Governor Munn is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Sturm College of Law and has lectured and written on the topics of leadership, public policy, ethics, human rights and civil liberties.
Governor Munn has held several gubernatorial appointments including the Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Higher Education and the Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies. His service on governing boards includes the Board of the National Association of State Boards of Education; the Board of the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education; and the Executive Council of the Colorado Bar Association. Governor Munn has served in several nonprofit leadership roles including for Amnesty International; The Denver Foundation; and The Denver Scholarship Foundation. From 2003-2007, he was an elected member of the Colorado State Board of Education.
Governor Munn resides in Denver. He is a devoted husband and father of two children.
